After being appointed as the Secretary-General of ABSKA, I have been feeling overburdened with its Pan-India responsibilities. However, I am confident that under the benign but effective leadership of our President, Shri A. D. Singh, I shall succeed in the venture of preserving our ancient sports and games, which have been a part of our heritage.
We have been making efforts for the last almost 40 years to promote these sports, but due to scarcity of funds, this gigantic task could not be fully accomplished, and we still have a long road ahead. However, in the last decade, with the inspiration of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, various State Governments and authorities at different levels have been encouraging our teams in promoting and organizing such events.
These events of ancient sports and games are being organized not only in stadiums but also in schools, colleges, and other educational institutions. We have also been organizing these games in rural areas under the nomenclature of “Gramin Olympics.”
We intend to create a digital software platform to ensure that all sportspersons can connect with us without any hurdles, so that the sporting talent of this country gets an opportunity not only to promote their talent but also to excel at the national and international levels of competition and tournaments.
We assure full cooperation and mentorship to all concerned.
